Broken Down's debut album First Spit is out today

Broken Diown's first spit is a fusion of lots of metal subgenres, a journey outside native and narrow metal genres.
Today is released Broken Down's debut full-length album First Spit.

A music without barrier and following no code

The band mixes Doom Metal, Industrial Metal, Stoner Rock, Hardcore Punk and lots of Heavy Metal subgenres to created a unique groovy music, a really special melting-pot, a music hard to classify, in short, a UFO.

Overall the tempo of the tracks and the electronically hacked side of Broken Down's music let us assimilate it to a genre close to Industrial Doom Metal. First Spit merges varied influences coming from bands as NIN, Saint Vitus, Ministry, Black Sabbath, Down, Samael, Orange Goblin, Pantera, Mayhem, Black Flag, Killing Joke, Type O Negative, Candlemass, without sounding like any of these.

A part of the press is disoriented

A part of the press appreciated this record:
  • Jeff focused on a new solo adventure letting him express his unconventional ideas (...) Very nice little record that despite its apparent strangeness and styles' contradiction (contradiction which is based only on non-existent codes and narrowness of some people's mind), works very well and has very good ideas. (...) I bet that the high potential of this project will lead to something huge in the future. (
  • A special world, coherent, strange because turning familiar things to its own sauce and that should interest lovers of odd stuff! (
  • An improbably release(..) A production that is therefore aimed at an informed public, amateur of thrill as delicate as the slagging of the ear canal by a drill-hitter.(
  • It should not immediately arrange these Broken Down pieces in well sealed compartements (..) An album with a strong personality, but still relatively stripped but nevertheless rich of versatile musical episodes (...) It's a little bit of everything at once and it knows how to capture the attention. (
  • Wer aber kreative Musik mag, der ein gewisses Chaos innewohnt, wird das Album mögen. (

Whereas Broken Down's anti-code, andi-traditional music completely disoriented another part of the reviewers :
  • Since Broken Down has more or less filled his bowl with genres and boiled it into his own sound, it more or less becomes one big, undefinable mess to me (...) if you are more open-minded than me, I would definitely recommend it.(
  • Stop polluting our ears (...) Besides the deafs, I don't see who could buy this record and declare himself satisfied (
  • Seriously though, worst thing musically I have heard out of France since Fadades! (
  • This Broken Down's effort is a total washout and a real scam to any purchaser of the record. (
