Carma is a funeral black doom metal band from Portugal. Formed in 2011 the band releases here its debut eponymous self-titled album Carma.
Carma create a combination of prickly funeral doom and dark ambient atmospherics. Listening to this self-titled album is like crawling through cold mud and barbed wire towards a hidden destiny – suffering is all around and there’s unlikely to be a happy ending. Then again, if Carma believe in karma, then it’s probably all their own fault anyway, 7/10 (Doom Metal Heaven)
This is what a true doom metal album should sound like to me. I don’t usually like metal slow, but doing it with all the right elements like singing about death and decay at a pace only the dead know of is how I’d take it. 4/5 (Metal Rules)
